Forming Presses:
|
Two hydraulic presses with Auto Temperature controllers.

ELP is used to manufacture 14 , 15 , 20 & 21 color funnel

Robotics:
|
2 Robots for loading/ unloading of Heavy funnels (Generally 20 , 21 29 sizes) which can move around 6-Axis & execute its operation up to a high pressure of 2300PSI.

Button Sealing Machine:
|
4 Nos. of Button Sealing Machines (Electric Servo mechanism as well as Pneumatic Clutch Brake mechanism operated). The basic function of the button machine is to seal the anode button in the body of funnel. The glass is punched out at button sealing area and then button is inserted. After that heating and suck up is done for the better sealing of button.

Annealing Lehr:
|
Annealing lehr is used in our system to relieve stress from the glass. The lehr consists of 12 zones and required temperature is maintained in each zone. As the glass is formed, its temperature is very high (450 deg Celsius). So if the funnel is cooled suddenly, it could lead to breakage. The funnel is thus required to cool in a very controlled manner.

Neck Flaring & Neck Sealing:
|
At Neck Flaring process, a long hollow tube is cut into small pieces as per size requirements and is flared at the edges. Neck flaring process is capable to produce 10.0 Million Funnels per Annum. These Produced Necks are sealed with funnel at Neck Sealing Process.

Grinding:
|
Funnels are ground with high quality diamond wheels to produce World quality finished funnels for color picture tube requirement.

Auto Gauging & Online Inspection:
|
Automatic gauging equipments are installed online to inspect funnels w.r.t. all dimensional parameters critical to product functioning, and Online Inspection is done by Internal Certified Quality Inspectors to deliver Good Product to customer.

CAD/CAM Facility:

SGL is using Four CAD/CAM workstations & Uni-Graphics license.

Glass & Environmental Lab:
|
SGL Lab was established with joint venture of Samsung South Korea and Corning USA in 1993. It is equipped with all the latest test equipment facilities for glass and its raw material, water and environmental analysis. The Lab has a world benchmark record in batch cost reduction and usage of different type of cullet and its ratio. Main function of glass is to deliver the display glass as per customer requirements at world benchmark cost.
Another function is to meet statuary requirements for the plant. To meet all the requirements, the lab is equipped with all facilities like physical/ chemical optical property analysis of glass through AAS, XRF, UV, and Softening point M/C, annealing strain point equipment. The Lab has frit glass and barrier rib paste in the in-house developed test facility.
The Lab filed Three patents for the following:

Change the glass through on the fly conversion from Black & White to Color Funnel.

Developed monochrome CRT Glass.

Developed universal glass, which is used for Color CRT as well as Black & White CRT.
